Getting Your Permit

This permit is open to individuals aged 50 and above who can show they are able to transfer at least USD 2,000 per month or USD 24,000 annually, into a local Mauritian bank account.

The permit is valid for 10 years and can be renewed, provided you have consistently met the income transfer requirement each year.

After 5 consecutive years of residency, retirees may apply for a 20-year Permanent Residence Permit.

Property Investment Options for Retirees

Retired non-citizens can invest in specially developed residential communities designed for over-50s. These developments typically offer recreational and wellness amenities such as a clubhouse, gym, or health centre, and are managed with senior living in mind.

There is no minimum purchase price for these properties. If you choose to live in one, you (and your spouse or partner) can apply for a residence permit valid for as long as you own or live in the home.
