Mauritius Investor Permit:
USD 50,000 Business Investment Route
Build More Than Business, Create a Life in Mauritius Through Investment.
The Mauritius Investor Occupation Permit is the most popular route for foreign entrepreneurs and business owners who want to live and work in Mauritius. By investing a minimum of USD 50,000 into a new or existing Mauritius company, you receive a 10-year residence and work permit, with the right to include your spouse, children, and dependent parents.
Mauritius sits at the crossroads of Africa and Asia, making it a strategic launchpad for businesses serving either continent. The island offers a flat 15% corporate tax rate, no capital gains tax, no withholding tax on dividends, 100% foreign ownership, and free repatriation of profits. Combined with 46 Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements, 44 Investment Promotion and Protection Agreements, and membership of COMESA and SADC, Mauritius provides genuine commercial advantages that go far beyond the residence permit itself.

Year 5 Compliance Review
Under the Finance Act 2025, the Economic Development Board now conducts a compliance review at Year 5 to determine whether investors are achieving the required turnover levels. Permits may be revoked if the business has not met its targets. Investors who pass the review retain their permits until Year 10, when a further review takes place. This represents a significant change from the previous system, where 10-year permits were issued without interim review. It means you need to take turnover targets seriously from Year 1 and maintain proper records to demonstrate compliance.
